Mobile Engineer

Job Summary

The Mobility Engineer SOTI MobiControl is responsible for the administration, configuration, and operational support of SOTI MobiControl for managing enterprise Zebra, Honeywell, and Samsung handheld and rugged devices. The role requires strong handson expertise in device lifecycle management, OS upgrades, profile and configuration creation, application deployment, and advanced troubleshooting to ensure uninterrupted business operations in missioncritical environments.

Key Responsibilities

SOTI MobiControl Administration

• Administer and support SOTI MobiControl for enterprise mobility environments.
• Configure and manage device profiles, configurations, and policies using SOTI best practices.
• Perform device enrollment, provisioning, and grouping for handheld and rugged devices.
• Maintain standardized device configurations across environments.

Device Management (Zebra, Honeywell, Samsung)

• Manage and support Zebra, Honeywell, and Samsung handheld/rugged devices.
• Apply OEMspecific configurations, including:
• Zebra device settings and extensions
• Honeywell enterprise device configurations
• Samsung based configurations
• Perform and manage OS upgrades and firmware updates in a controlled manner.
• Validate OS upgrades to ensure application and device compatibility.

Application Deployment and Management

• Deploy, update, and manage enterprise and lineofbusiness applications via SOTI MobiControl.
• Create and maintain application deployment profiles.
• Manage application versions and dependencies.
• Support application testing during OS upgrades and new device onboarding.

Troubleshooting and Operational Support

• Diagnose and resolve devicerelated issues including:
• Enrollment failures
• Configuration and profile application issues
• Application installation and performance problems
• Connectivity and compliance issues
• Perform remote troubleshooting using SOTI tools such as remote control, log collection, and diagnostics.
• Provide Tier2 and Tier3 support for mobilityrelated incidents.
• Participate in root cause analysis and permanent fix implementation.

Documentation and Collaboration

• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration standards.
• Work closely with operations, application, and infrastructure teams to support mobility requirements.
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to support and operations teams when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Proven handson experience with SOTI MobiControl.
• Strong expertise in managing Zebra, Honeywell, and Samsung handheld/rugged devices.
• Experience performing OS upgrades and firmware updates.
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage:
• Device profiles
• Configurations
• Application deployments
• Strong troubleshooting skills across device, OS, and application layers.
• Good understanding of Android Enterprise and rugged mobility use cases.
• Having experience on MS Intune MDM, MAM gives an added advantage.
