Job Description

Role: Mechanical Engineering Intern Duration: 3 to 6 Months (Full-Time, Intensive)

Team: Robotics / Mechanical Engineering Incentive: Monthly stipend with performance bonus

About the Role

This internship places you at the center of a full-scale Humanoid Robot development program. You will work as an active contributor not an observer on the mechanical architecture of a humanoid platform. The engagement is intensive and full-time; expect a steep learning curve and significant ownership.

Responsibilities

Structural Design & CAD

  • Design and redesign mechanical components of the humanoid robot including limbs, joints, structural frames, and brackets
  • Produce detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software
  • Ensure designs meet geometric, weight, and assembly constraints of the humanoid platform

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • Conduct static, dynamic, and fatigue analyses on critical components
  • Interpret FEA results and translate findings into design improvements
  • Validate designs against load cases derived from robot motion requirements

Iteration & Collaboration

  • Work in close collaboration with the core engineering team through design review cycles
  • Participate in physical build and assembly phases where applicable
  • Maintain documentation of design decisions, analysis reports, and revision history
Requirements

Education

Final year of Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or related), or recent graduate

Availability

Full-time, 36 months

CAD Proficiency

SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / OnShape / CATIA or equivalent intermediate to advanced

FEA Proficiency

ANSYS / Abaqus / PrePoMax / SimScale or equivalent working knowledge

Design Fundamentals

Solid understanding of statics, dynamics, and materials

Preferred (Not Mandatory)
  • Participation in a Robotics Club or competitive robotics or automobile team
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC, sheet metal, laser cutting)
  • Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Familiarity with robot kinematics or biomechanics
What You'll Gain
  • Deep, practical experience in advanced robotics mechanical engineering
  • Ownership of real components on a functioning humanoid system
  • A portfolio piece that is genuinely rare at an internship level
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers in a fast-moving environment
