Our Paonta Sahib facility is currently undergoing planned expansion in the area of engineered hydraulic systems for rolling stock and heavy industrial applications, and we are building a dedicated team to support this growth.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Mechanical Engineer specialising in hydraulics at our Paonta Sahib facility. The role spans design, development, testing, production, and maintenance of hydraulic systems, with responsibilities including detailed CAD-based design, prototyping, validation testing, project execution, and ensuring alignment with applicable performance and safety standards.

We are recruiting across four functional teams:

  • Hydraulic Development design, simulation, and prototyping
  • Research & Development testing, validation, and performance characterisation
  • Production process engineering, assembly, and series manufacturing
  • Maintenance uptime, reliability, and equipment troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and prototype hydraulic systems and sub-assemblies using appropriate CAD and CAE tools
  • Conduct and support validation testing including load, endurance, leak, pressure-flow, thermal, and fatigue characterisation
  • Contribute to process engineering, fixture design, and assembly-line readiness for series manufacturing
  • Maintain and improve uptime, reliability, and performance of hydraulic test rigs and production equipment
  • Develop and qualify suppliers for seals, valves, bushes, and precision-machined components
  • Manage assigned projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with timeline, quality, and safety requirements
  • Engage with customers including Indian Railways, RDSO, and international rail OEMs on technical reviews, type tests, and qualification audits
  • Document technical work clearly through engineering reports, drawings, and standard operating procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; Diploma holders with strong relevant hands-on experience will also be considered
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and machine design
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD) for technical drawings and 3D models
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving ability, and clear technical communication
  • Commitment to safety protocols and engineering standards
  • Willingness to work on-site at Paonta Sahib and to travel as required for customer visits, supplier development, and field trials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to hydraulics, fluid power, or fluid systems through coursework, internship, project work, or prior employment
  • Familiarity with CAE tools such as Ansys, AMESim, or SimulationX
  • Project management experience, including planning, scheduling, and overseeing execution
  • Awareness of relevant standards including IRS, RDSO, EN, or ISO
  • Prior work experience in the manufacturing sector or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous learning, research, and technical self-development
