Job description:

Manual Lathe Operator

Location: D19 & 20, 1st Phase, Adityapur Industrial Area, Near Prabhat Khabar, Jamshedpur 832109

Department: Production / Machining

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Production Manager / Shop Floor Supervisor

Responsibilities:

Operate manual lathe machines to manufacture precision automotive components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
Set up workpieces, cutting tools, and machine parameters for various machining operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and machining instructions.
Perform turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, and other manual machining operations.
Measure finished components using precision instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Perform routine machine maintenance
Coordinate with production and quality teams to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following company safety procedures and 5S practices.

Requirements:

Minimum requirement: ITI, NCVT/SCVT, or Diploma in Machinist, Turner, Fitter, Mechanical, or a related trade.
Experience operating manual lathe machines in an automotive or precision manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand machining tolerances.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
Basic knowledge of cutting tools, tool geometry, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
Willingness to work full-time on-site in Adityapur Industrial Area and in shifts, if required.
