Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Manager MIS & Project Controls, located in Rupnagar. The role involves overseeing and managing Management Information Systems (MIS) operations, monitoring project controls, and ensuring accurate and efficient information management. The Manager will utilize analytical expertise to evaluate project performance, manage financial data, and optimize information technology systems to support infrastructure construction projects. Additionally, the Manager will lead a team to implement best practices and deliver solutions that align with project goals.
System design: Map workflows for daily progress capture, material requisition (site state HQ head office purchase), procurement tracking, and BOQ-linked progress reporting.
Tool implementation: Build or configure the chosen tool (Google Forms + Sheets + AppSheet, or a construction MIS like Powerplay). Set up dashboards for management.
Data foundations: Build and maintain the BOQ master, activity master, material master and site master the backbone of every report.
Rollout and training: Travel to states, train site engineers and state HQ staff, run pilot in one state before scaling to all.
Reporting: Produce weekly progress reports, material consumption analysis, procurement status, and planned-vs-actual dashboards for management.
RA bill support: Provide validated quantity data to the billing team to support running account bills.
Continuous improvement: Identify gaps, propose process changes, evolve the system as projects scale.
Must-have qualificationsEducation: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (preferred) or equivalent; or a graduate with strong site-MIS experience in a contractor company.
Experience: 48 years in a contractor or EPC company in planning, MIS, billing, or project controls roles.
Construction knowledge: Deep familiarity with road / highway construction activities (formation, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC, bridge components, retaining walls), BOQs, units, and how RA bills are prepared.
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: Pivot tables, lookups, Power Query or equivalent, comfortable building large structured workbooks.
