Position Overview and Objective

The Manager, Business Applications leads a team of and System Administrators and Developers in the development, test and launch phases of software development life cycle.

Position Overview & Objective

The Manager, Business Applications is responsible for leading, developing, and scaling a remote, cross-functional team of Business Application Administrators and Developers supporting Salesforce, NetSuite, Business Intelligence platforms, and application integrations. This role focuses on people leadership, Agile delivery, and operational excellence, ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, secure, and scalable business solutions while growing individual capability and career progression.

Primary Responsibilities

People Leadership & Team Development

 Lead, coach, and develop a remote team of system administrators and developers across business applications and BI platforms.
 Establish clear role expectations, performance goals, and career development plans for all team members.
 Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback.
 Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing remote team culture.

Delivery & Agile Execution

 Manage team delivery using Agile methodologies with two-week sprint cycles.
 Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness and effective sprint planning.
 Ensure execution of sprint ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
 Balance operational support, enhancement work, and technical debt within sprint commitments.

Technical Oversight & Standards

 Provide leadership oversight for Salesforce, NetSuite, BI platforms, and application integrations.
 Ensure adherence to SDLC, engineering standards, security requirements, and testing practices.
 Collaborate with architecture, security, and peer application teams to ensure alignment.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

 Define and monitor delivery and operational metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, and defect trends.
 Use metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform leadership decisions.
 Identify tools and processes to improve delivery efficiency and team effectiveness.

Stakeholder Collaboration

 Act as an escalation point for delivery and operational issues.
 Partner with US based application leaders to align priorities.
 Communicate status, risks, and dependencies clearly to leadership.

Key Skills & Experience

 Working knowledge of Salesforce, NetSuite, BI platforms, and data integrations.
 Proven experience managing Agile teams in sprint-based delivery models.
 Strong SDLC and release management experience.
 Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate remote teams.
 Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

 5+ years of experience in Business Applications or related technology domains.
 Previous people management experience, including performance management.
 Hands-on Agile delivery experience.
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience managing globally distributed teams.
 Experience supporting both operational systems and BI/data platforms.
 Familiarity with KPI-driven or metrics-based management.

Travel Requirements

Typically 10% or less of business travel
