Job Description: Senior Systems Engineer (Linux/SRE focus)

We are seeking highly skilled Systems Engineers to join our production support team, focusing on the stability, security, and performance of our large-scale Linux environment. In this role, Candidate will be responsible for managing high-priority workstreams, ranging from deep technical investigations of complex system bugs to orchestrating critical security rollouts. Candidate will serve as a primary technical lead for the Drilling Queue, where Candidate will monitor logs and debug intricate issues to identify root causes, ensuring that our core infrastructure remains robust and efficient.

Beyond routine maintenance, Candidate will play a pivotal role in Incident and Release Management. This includes leading the response to Fleet Breakages and production-wide failures, where Candidate will coordinate paging and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to minimize user impact. Candidate will also manage the DSA Vulnerability stream, ensuring that critical security patches and weekly fix rollouts are executed seamlessly. By combining deep OS-level expertise with a proactive DevOps mindset, Candidate will ensure our fleet remains compliant, secure, and resilient against large-scale operational challenges.

Core Proficiencies

• Advanced Linux/gLinux Administration: Expert-level knowledge of system internals (Process management, Memory, File Systems, and Kernel-level basics).
• Troubleshooting & RCA: Mastery of OS-level debugging and Root Cause Analysis to resolve performance and stability bottlenecks.
• Incident Management: Proven ability to lead high-stakes response efforts for production-wide (Red Alert) failures.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Python or Shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks and improve system monitoring.

Secondary Skills

• DevOps & CI/CD: Practical experience in Release Management and deploying security fixes within a continuous integration pipeline.
• Observability: Experience using monitoring tools to analyze logs, identify patterns, and preemptively address system health issues.
