About the role

The Learning Experience Designer will work on ongoing projects and in-house research and development work. These include bespoke curriculum research, design and delivery for educational and cultural institution stakeholders based on Flow India's proprietary Engaged Cultural Learning methodology.


This involves the following:

Conceptualize, develop and design bespoke learning programmes and experiences

Research and recce for programme/project development

Writing, research, finalization of designed workbooks / educational materials.

Manage, design and facilitate workshops for facilitators, educators (ToTs) and students

Coordination for programme delivery

Documentation of programmes for internal and external stakeholders via reports and social media

Design and conduct evaluation assessments


Note: This is not a UI/UX design or development role. The position requires a strong understanding of curriculum design and pedagogy, with a focus on creating and facilitating meaningful learning experiences for students and educators.

Relevant Experience and Mindset

We connect children to their heritage, environment and culture in order to build their capacity to evaluate, think and learn better. We require people who are passionate about education first and foremost. The candidate should also have experience of working with children in a school setting and also a passion for teaching. An interest in alternative teaching methodologies and experiential/out-of-school learning would be a plus.


Flow programmes are inter-disciplinary and pedagogically complex. The candidate is required to get to grips with the curriculum material of K12 and map it to Indias heritage and environment. The person who will thrive in Flow India will be self-starting, able to work and travel independently, will be able to seize an opportunity in a semi-structured environment, will be able to cope with sudden turn-arounds and changes, and who enjoys working in a small tight team. Logistically, we need to be meticulous a strong sense of timing and organization is a must. The job involves being an advocate of our work. This means being confident with talking on the phone, setting up and attending meetings with heads of institutions.

Skills/Qualifications


Necessary

-3-4 years of work experience in education and/or culture sector as a learning experience designer / instructional designer / curriculum designer

-At Least 1 year of training and facilitation experience

-Excellent communicator and creative thinker

-Professional demeanour and client service orientation

-Perfect written English to academic publishing standard

-Proven ability to have worked with K12 as well as adult learners

-Clear annunciation and communication in English & Hindi

-Extremely proficient at Microsoft and Google suite

-Interest in the cultural sector


Desirable

-Post-graduate qualification

-Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 6 and above / Canva

-Experience of teaching in a school or other educational organization

-Experience in visual design

-Experience in social media publicity


Other requirements

-Use of personal laptop for which a monthly reimbursement will be included within the reimbursement package.

Assignment for selection (compulsory)


Part A: Lesson Plan

Think of a unique/original experience that you would like to design for school children. Mention the key knowledge and skill objectives and how it will be delivered (methodology). Write in detail any one activity (10-15 min duration) that will be a part of this experience. This activity can be an introduction to a concept or a skill building activity. Provide detailed facilitation notes and additional material needed, if any.


Part B: Project Reflection

Briefly describe a project you have handled in the past, outlining all the parties involved and your specific role. What went well? What would you do differently if you could do it all over again?
