The Opportunity:

Digit88 is expanding the extended software product engineering team for its partner, a US-based Energy Analytics SaaS platform company. Our partner is building a suite of cloud-based business operation support platforms in the Utilities Rate Lifecycle space in the Energy sector/domain. This is a bleeding edge AI and Big Data platform that helps large energy utility companies in the US plan, manage, review and optimize their new product and rate design, billing, rate analysis, forecasting, and CRM. The candidate would be joining an existing team of product engineers in the US, China and Pune/India and help us establish an extended product engineering team at Digit88.

Job Profile:

Digit88 is looking for a hands-on Lead Tariff Analyst with expertise in Advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL Queries and writing programs using Python and Shell scripts. They must be detail-focused, and have excellent problem-solving skills, and quickly learn new tools & knowledge.

The role requires a knowledge of database concepts and provides an opportunity to drive positive energy consumption habits and catalyse a clean energy future. You must enjoy learning and building rapidly evolving products/platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understands complex utility tariffs, rates, and programs, converts them into a model, and maintains/updates it based on additional requirements.
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating with the delivery team, ensuring the successful completion of deliverables from start to finish.
• Assist delivery team in validating the input data received from client for modelling work.
• Work with Cross functional teams to resolve issues related to Tariff logic in internal tools and external Products.
• Drive Sprint ceremonies, keep the team members motivated to passionately work towards fulfilling the committed sprint goals.
• Ensure that required Validation & Regression testing is done on products and change management process is followed while releasing the tariff model updates to higher environments.
• Ensure that issues arising from mismatches between shadow bills and actual bills are resolved.
• Develop impactful ideas and implement effective automations and efficiency improvement initiatives to reduce time consumption and the error-prone nature of labour-intensive manual tasks.
• Act like a true leader by sharing knowledge where appropriate, ensuring he/she helps grow other senior analysts in the process
• Ensure the continuous creation and maintenance of documentation for requirements, enhancements, and developed processes.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Overall Industry experience 6-8 years
• Bachelors Degree in analytical subject area. E.g., Engineering, Statistics or equivalent.
• Proficient in advanced Excel functions and macros, involving complex calculations and pivots
• At least 1-2 years of team leading experience (Guiding, Mentoring, Collaboration)
• Experience in python and shell scripts for automating workflows.
• Exceptional Analytical, problem solving & Logical skills.
• Understanding of relational database concepts and hands-on experience in SQL.
• Demonstrable aptitude for Innovation and Problem solving.
• Good communication skills and ability to work across Cross-functional teams.
• Understands complex utility tariffs, rates and programs and converts these into a model.
• Driving end to end deliverables and implementing automations and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Participates in sprint planning and other ceremonies, passionately works towards fulfilling the committed sprint goals.
• Knowledge of and ability to automate routine tasks using Python and shell.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Energy Industry and familiar with basic concepts of Utility (electrical/gas...) tariffs
• Experience and Knowledge with tools like; Microsoft Excel macros.
• Familiarity with writing programs using Python or Shell scripts.
• Passionate about working with data and data analyses.
• 1+ year experience in Agile methodology.
