Lead DBA

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior AWS Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support cloud-based database environments within the AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS database services, performance tuning, monitoring, automation, and database reliability engineering.

The role requires hands-on experience in managing both SQL and NoSQL databases, implementing best practices for security and scalability, and collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure high availability and operational excellence.

• Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS database services including RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift.
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and migration activities.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and database security best practices.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.
• Implement database automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Support cloud cost optimization initiatives and FinOps best practices.
• Collaborate with application teams for database integration in containerized environments such as ECS/EKS.
• Maintain documentation related to database architecture, operational procedures, and incident management.

• 8+ years of experience in Database Administration.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud ecosystem.
• Advanced expertise in:
• AWS RDS
• Aurora PostgreSQL
• DynamoDB
• Redshift
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with database monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD integration.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization skills.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of cost governance tools and FinOps practices.
• Exposure to containerized workloads and database integration with ECS/EKS.
• AWS certifications will be an added advantage.
