Lead Cloud Migration

Responsibilities:

Lead and execute end-to-end migration waves owning day-to-day implementation of server, database, and application workloads from mobilization through cutover and hypercare.

Implement and operate AWS migration tools (MGN, DMS/SCT, Migration Hub, ADS, DataSync, Snowball) hands-on across all project phases.

Build, maintain, and execute detailed wave plans, cutover runbooks, rollback scripts, and acceptance test criteria in close coordination with the project architect and delivery manager.

Lead a team of migration engineers assign tasks, conduct technical reviews, resolve blockers, and ensure quality of delivery across all migration workstreams.

Provide technical inputs to architects and consultants during the Assess/Mobilize phase tooling recommendations, dependency mapping outputs, effort sizing, and risk identification.

Implement automated migration workflows, pre/post-migration validation scripts, and reusable runbooks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Configure and manage AWS landing zone components (VPC, Transit Gateway, IAM, Security Groups, Route53) to receive migrated workloads as per the architect-defined design.

Set up CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and IaC templates (Terraform, CloudFormation) for post-migration infrastructure provisioning and application redeployment.

Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues replication lag, network connectivity, application compatibility, and database schema conflicts during and after migration events.

Implement post-migration monitoring and observability: CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, log groups for migrated workloads.

Ensure cloud security and compliance is implemented during migration IAM least privilege, encryption at rest/transit, Security Hub findings remediation, and GuardDuty enablement.

Proactively communicate project status, gaps, delays, and risks to project leads and extended teams; initiate resolution meetings when needed.

Mentor junior engineers on migration tools, AWS best practices, and automation techniques; drive team capability development.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Presidio's migration accelerators, scripts, playbooks, and reusable delivery assets.
