Lead AI Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for a Lead AI Engineers with strong hands-on experience to join our Technology & Development team. This role is for someone who can bothdesign and build AI systemsandlead technical direction, and mentor the team.

You will be responsible for taking AI solutions from idea to production, while ensuring scalability, reliability, and real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AI/ML solutions for real-world business problems
• Lead end-to-end development, from data preparation to model deployment
• Architect scalable backend systems and APIs using Python and/or Java
• Guide and review the work of other engineers and set technical standards
• Work closely with product, data, and business teams to define solutions
• Improve model performance, reliability, and production stability
• Ensure clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Stay updated with new developments in AI/ML and apply them where relevant

Required Technical Skills

• AI / ML - Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and model deployment. Experience building and deploying production-grade AI systems.
• System Design - Experience designing scalable AI pipelines and backend systems
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end systems, including APIs, microservices, and integration with enterprise platforms
• Cloud & Deployment - Practical experience deploying and managing systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including monitoring and performance optimization
• Python (Strong hands-on) - Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy.
• JavaScript - Working knowledge for building or integrating front-end components
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Git
• Experience with AI development-accelerators like Claude / Antigravity etc.
• LLM / Generative AI Systems - Hands-on experience working with large language models such asClaudeor similar. Experience in prompt design, evaluation, fine-tuning (if applicable), and building reliable LLM-based applications

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or software development
• Proven track record of delivering production-level AI systems
• Experience leading projects or small teams is strongly preferred
• Experience working across functions (engineering, product, business)

Education

Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, AI, Data Science, or a related field

Communication & Leadership

• Able to explain technical concepts in a simple and clear way
• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Self-driven, responsible, and able to take ownership
• Experience mentoring or guiding engineers is a plus
