Job Description: L3 Support Engineer Networking, Cybersecurity & Operating Systems
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced L3 Support Engineer with strong expertise in Networking, Cybersecurity, and Operating Systems. The ideal candidate will handle complex escalations, perform deepdive troubleshooting, and support enterprisegrade network and security environments. Candidates with 5+ years of experience must also demonstrate team leadership or teamhandling experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 technical support for networking, cybersecurity, and OSrelated incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across:
- Network Infrastructure: Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, WAF
- Cybersecurity: Threat detection, access control, SIEM, vulnerability management
- Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), OSlevel security
- Perform advanced diagnostics, packet analysis, and log reviews.
- Lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and implement longterm fixes.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide L1/L2 teams.
- Participate in oncall rotations for critical incidents.
- For candidates with 5+ years of experience:
- Lead and manage a small technical support team
- Oversee escalation workflows and task distribution
- Provide technical coaching and performance feedback
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in Networking, Cybersecurity, and Operating Systems.
- Strong handson experience with:
- Operating Systems:
- Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, Group Policies, patching)
- Linux administration (services, permissions, hardening, shell scripting)
- Networking:
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, STP
- Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco ASA)
- Cybersecurity:
- SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, EDR, vulnerability scanners
- Security policies, compliance, and best practices
- Proven experience in L3 support or advanced troubleshooting roles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
- Preferred certifications: CCNP, CCIE, CEH, CISSP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Leadership Requirement (Mandatory for 5+ Years Experience)
Candidates with 5+ years must have:
- Demonstrated team leadership or teamhandling experience
- Ability to mentor and guide L1/L2/L3 engineers
- Experience managing escalations and coordinating with customers and management
