Auscomp Computers Pty Ltd is an Australian-based IT hardware distribution and cloud solutions company operating across multiple business locations in Queensland and other regions. We specialize in enterprise IT hardware, cloud infrastructure, networking, and business technology solutions.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT Network & Security Consultant to take ownership of our complete IT infrastructure, including network security, Linux server administration, and Microsoft Azure cloud management. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who can independently manage, secure, monitor, and optimize enterprise IT systems while ensuring business continuity and security compliance.

• Audit, monitor, and maintain security across on-premises network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and routing environments
• Configure and manage firewall rules, IDS/IPS systems, and network access controls
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and proactive threat analysis
• Implement network segmentation and enforce security best practices
• Investigate and respond to network security incidents and alerts
• Configure and maintain secure site-to-site VPN connectivity between multiple business locations
• Monitor network performance, uptime, and reliability

• Manage and maintain Linux-based servers (Ubuntu/Debian environments)
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, security hardening, and performance optimization
• Configure and manage services such as:
• Web servers
• DNS
• DHCP
• File sharing
• Backup systems
• Manage SSH access, authentication, sudo policies, and user permissions
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (Fail2Ban, Syslog, SIEM integration, etc.)
• Ensure server backup and disaster recovery readiness

• Manage and secure Microsoft Azure environments including:
• Virtual Machines
• Virtual Networks
• NSGs
• Storage Accounts
• Backup Services
• Configure Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access Policies, and MFA
• Review and implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations
• Monitor Azure resource usage, cost optimization, and system performance
• Manage Azure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Ensure compliance with Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark best practices

• Provide regular IT health reports and security posture updates
• Maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, systems, and configurations
• Recommend infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and optimization strategies
• Provide proactive maintenance and monitoring support
• Be available for urgent incident response and troubleshooting as required

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network security, and systems administration
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred)
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud security
• Solid understanding of:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• DHCP
• VLANs
• VPNs
• BGP
• OSPF
• Experience with enterprise firewalls such as:
• Sophos
• Fortinet
• pfSense
• Cisco
• Experience with SIEM tools, log management, and security monitoring
• Strong troubleshooting and incident response capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively manage IT environments

• Microsoft certifications such as:
• AZ-500
• SC-200
• Azure Administrator
• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent certifications
• Experience working with Australian businesses and familiarity with:
• Australian Privacy Act
• Essential Eight security framework
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central environments
• Exposure to warehouse, logistics, or distribution IT environments
