IT Administrator

IT Administrator | Mumbai

Midas VFX is looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Administrator to join our Mumbai studio.

Working closely with our London technology team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of our studio infrastructure, ensuring artists and production teams have reliable access to the systems and tools they need to deliver world-class visual effects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in VFX, animation, post-production, gaming, or other creative studio environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day IT support to artists, production staff, and management teams.

Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux workstations.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access across studio systems.

Support Google Suite, Active Directory, VPNs, and cloud-based services.

Monitor and maintain networking infrastructure including switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.

Support storage systems, file servers, backup solutions, and studio hardware.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.

Assist with workstation builds, hardware upgrades, and equipment procurement.

Maintain technical documentation, asset inventories, and IT procedures.

Support security updates, patch management, and system maintenance.

Work closely with the London technology team to ensure consistency across both studios.

Coordinate with external vendors and service providers when required.

Requirements

5+ years of IT Administration or Technical Support experience.

Experience supporting users within a VFX, animation, post-production, gaming, or creative studio environment.

Strong knowledge of Windows desktop administration and support.

Good understanding of Linux systems and user support.

Experience with Active Directory and Google Suite administration.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and spoken English.

Comfortable working directly with colleagues and management teams in both Mumbai and London.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable Skills

Experience supporting VFX pipelines, render farms, or artist workflows.

Experience with virtualisation technologies.

Understanding of backup, security, and disaster recovery best practices.

Knowledge of ShotGrid, Deadline or similar production technologies.
