What Youll Be Doing (position summary):

The Intermediate Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of quality engineering and software testing for assigned projects or initiatives This role ensures rigorous

adherence to QA/QE standards, manages testing teams, and drives the implementation of automation and innovative solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness The incumbent adds value by providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies At CIBC India we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role Details on your work arrangement (including on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview


How Youll Succeed (Responsibilities):

Testing Coordination & Execution:

  • Develop, publish, and execute test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, automation scripts, virtualization, status reports, defect and exit reports.
  • Identify and obtain required test data and test environments.
  • Develop, publish, and execute testing estimates and manage financials related to testing activities.
  • Track and report QA/QE metrics and KPIs such as velocity and defect slippage.


Defect & Compliance Management:

  • Manage defects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Identify, manage, and implement remediation for any noncompliance items and deviations.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QE standards and support the implementation of new standards.
  • Recognize and identify areas for process, policy, or tool improvement.


Technical Leadership:

  • Provide input, feedback, and challenge to technical designs and assess impacts to testing.
  • Identify and implement automation, AI, or other emerging solutions to expedite testing and improve quality.
  • Lead the adoption of automation frameworks and tools.


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Collaborates with project managers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to coordinate testing activities and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Works closely with development teams to provide feedback on technical designs and assess testing impacts.
  • Interacts with external vendors and tool providers to evaluate and integrate testing solutions.
  • Partners with other QA/QE professionals across the organization to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.
  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.


JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Responsible for the delivery of testing services for assigned projects/initiatives, supporting retail banking, mobile, web-based, UX, API, and accessibility testing.
  • Provides technical and process leadership to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supports achievement of business unit goals through effective quality engineering and testing practices.


Experience: 3-5 years of experience

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in native Mobile QA/QE, 13 years of experience in development.


Must Have Skills:

  • iOS/Android Mobile QA expertise.
  • Programming languages commonly used for automation (any of Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Automation frameworks, tools, and libraries (Robot framework, Appium (native mobile testing), and any of, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Junit, etc).
  • Writing and executing automation test cases, custom functions, and building object repositories.
  • Cloud-based device testing (eg, HPMC, Perfector or similar other tools).
  • Web technologies (HTML, CSS, web services) and Version control systems (eg GIT).
  • Accessibility Testing Skills for Mobile Devices: Strong knowledge of WCAG 21 standards and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities (Ability to analyze data accuracy in Adobe Analytics report).
  • Quality management and assurance expertise.


Good to have Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries 3
  • Regulatory compliance testing experience
  • API testing, virtualization
  • GitHub CoPilot or other Gen AI-based toolsJira, Confluence, and/or other Agile, development, and QA tools.
  • Parasoft, Rest API, and/or other API testing and virtualization tools
  • Perfecto and/or other mobile and browser testing tools.
  • CI/CD pipelines (eg, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
