Job Title : Infrastructure & Security Engineer
Job Location : Bengaluru
Exp Range : 6-12 years
Notice Period : immediate - 15 days
We are looking for a motivated Infrastructure & Security Engineer hands on experience in managing enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Windows systems, networking, load balancers, and certificate management, along with a strong foundation in infrastructure security.
This role focuses on vulnerability remediation, patch automation, and supporting infrastructure migration from VMware to OpenShift while ensuring compliance with enterprise security and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations
- Manage and support Windows servers and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Monitor and maintain network components including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing.
- Assist in configuration and management of load balancers (F5, NGINX, HAProxy, or similar).
- Ensure system availability, performance, and reliability in line with SLAs.
Security & Vulnerability Management
- Identify and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities using standard tools and processes.
- Apply OS and network hardening practices as per enterprise security guidelines.
- Manage TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle (installation, renewal, troubleshooting).
- Work closely with security teams to track and close audit findings and vulnerabilities.
Patch Management & Automation
- Execute regular patching activities for servers and infrastructure components.
- Support automation of patching workflows using scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, etc.).
- Track patch compliance and ensure all systems are updated within defined timelines.
- Prepare reports and documentation for patching status and audit needs.
Platform Migration Support (VMware OpenShift)
- Support migration activities from VMware to OpenShift environments.
- Validate and ensure prerequisites (network, storage, dependencies) are in place before migration.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration with minimal downtime.
- Perform post-migration checks and assist in issue resolution.
Monitoring & Incident Support
- Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Provide L2 support and assist in root cause analysis.
- Follow enterprise incident management and escalation processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).
- Familiarity with load balancers (F5, NGINX, HAProxy, etc.).
- Experience handling TLS/SSL certificates.
- Exposure to VMware environments.
- Basic understanding or exposure to OpenShift/Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of patch management processes.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell preferred; basic Bash/Python is a plus).
Security Skills
- Understanding of infrastructure security fundamentals.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys, Nessus) is an advantage.
- Awareness of enterprise security compliance standards.
Soft Skills
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in structured enterprise processes and environments.
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat, or Security-related) are a plus.
- Exposure to enterprise change management processes.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices is an advantage.
