Information Technology Administrator

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of all IT systems, networks, and hardware. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration:

• Configure, monitor, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor network traffic and security to detect and prevent potential threats or vulnerabilities.

Systems Administration:

• Manage and administer servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and software.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Monitor system performance and resource utilization, and optimize as necessary.

User Support:

• Provide technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
• Set up and configure new user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
• Educate users on best practices for IT security and usage.

IT Security:

• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, and take appropriate actions to address any identified risks or weaknesses.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Generate reports on IT performance, incidents, and trends, and present findings to management as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years experience as an IT Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of network and systems administration principles.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network devices, servers, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
• Familiarity with IT security best practices and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Exposure to AWS cloud is preferrable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with users at all levels of the organization.
