HR Intern - Astrogate Labs

Location: Sahakarnagar, Bengaluru. Hybrid - 2 days in office.

Duration: 2 months

Start: May - June 2026.

Astrogate Labs builds laser-based satellite and defence communication systems. We're a small, engineering-led team, so HR here is close to the people and hands-on. With hiring largely settled, this role is about the inside work - the systems, the documentation, and the culture that hold a growing team together.

What you'll get to do

You'll help set up our annual appraisal system - goal-setting, job evaluation, banding, fair performance review. You'll shape our policies and employee handbook: drafting, organising, keeping it clear and current. And you'll help plan how we look after our team - wellness initiatives, engagement, celebrations, the annual off-site - bringing your own ideas and seeing them happen. Alongside this, you'll pitch in on onboarding, personnel files, the leave register, and the everyday rhythm of the office. When a role does open, you'll help with the practical side of hiring.

Week 1 is learning the ropes. By Week 4 you'll be running pieces of this yourself.

What we're looking for

Final or pre-final year of a Master's in HR, MBA-HR, Organisational Behaviour, or Psychology. You should have a genuine command of the core concepts - if we say banding, job evaluation, or goal-setting, you can hold a real conversation about them. Some prior HR exposure through internships or projects is expected, ideally in policy, documentation, or engagement work rather than recruitment cold-calling. Be organised, warm, careful with detail, and trustworthy with confidential information.
