Group Financial Controller (India Remote, UK Coverage)

Role Overview

The Group Financial Controller will be based in Ahmedabad, India, working remotely as a senior member of the global finance leadership team. The role oversees financial management, reporting, and control across a multi-country healthcare group, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across entities in the UK, Ireland, USA, India, and South Africa.

This role is central to driving financial consistency, governance, and operational efficiency across jurisdictions, while also leading an offshore/remote finance function supporting group-wide processes.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across all group entities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS / UK GAAP / US GAAP as relevant)
  • Maintain strong financial controls, governance frameworks, and reporting discipline across all regions
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and consolidation processes


Multi-Country Financial Oversight

  • Manage financial operations across the UK, Ireland, USA, India, and South Africa
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction
  • Coordinate with local finance teams, auditors, and external advisors
  • Monitor and manage currency exposure, tax implications, and regulatory risks across regions


Offshore / Remote Finance Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a remote/offshore finance team responsible for transactional processing and reporting support
  • Drive standardisation, automation, and efficiency across finance processes
  • Establish KPIs, service levels, and performance management frameworks
  • Ensure effective communication and delivery across time zones


Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning cycles
  • Provide variance analysis and strategic financial insights to senior leadership
  • Support decision-making through robust modelling and financial analysis


Audit & Compliance

  • Manage group audit processes and coordinate with external auditors globally
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory accounts across all entities
  • Strengthen internal controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management systems


Systems & Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and processes
  • Support ERP optimisation and cross-border system integration initiatives
  • Enhance data accuracy, consistency, and transparency across the group


Key Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in a Group Financial Controller or senior international finance role
  • Proven experience managing multi-entity, multi-country financial operations
  • Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and cross-border finance
  • Experience managing offshore or remote finance teams
  • Healthcare sector experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution
