Google Workspace Migration Engineer (3–5 Years Experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Google Workspace Migration Engineer with 35 years of hands-on experience in planning and executing enterprise-level migrations from legacy platforms (such as Microsoft 365, Exchange, or other collaboration tools) to Google Workspace. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute end-to-end migration to Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts).
• Perform pre-migration analysis, discovery, and readiness assessments.
• Configure and manage migration tools such as Google Migrate, CloudM, or similar platforms.
• Execute pilot migrations and full-scale production migrations with minimal downtime.
• Handle data migration including emails, calendars, contacts, and file storage (OneDrive/SharePoint to Google Drive).
• Configure and manage Google Workspace Admin Console settings, including users, OUs, groups, and security policies.
• Implement authentication and security controls such as SSO, 2SV, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Work with directory synchronization tools like GCDS or Azure AD Connect.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and provide post-migration support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, project managers, and change management teams for smooth delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 35 years of experience in Google Workspace administration and migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with migration tools like Google Migrate, CloudM, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of email systems (Exchange, Microsoft 365, IMAP).
• Experience in directory services such as Active Directory and Azure AD.
• Understanding of identity and access management (SSO, OAuth, SAML).
• Knowledge of email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Familiarity with data migration strategies, batch migration, and cutover approaches.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have

• Certification in Google Workspace or Google Cloud (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer).
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or GAM tool).
• Knowledge of compliance tools like Vault and DLP policies.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise migrations (500+ users).
