Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Global Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations for employees across multiple countries and regions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in global payroll processing, statutory compliance, payroll reconciliations, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external payroll vendors. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for multiple countries in compliance with local labor laws and statutory regulations.
- Validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary revisions, bonuses, incentives, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Review payroll reports, conduct payroll audits, and perform reconciliations before payroll sign-off.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, social security requirements, and statutory reporting obligations across different regions.
- Manage off-cycle payrolls, final settlements, and year-end payroll activities.
- Handle employee payroll queries and resolve payroll-related issues within defined service levels.
- Support payroll accounting activities, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end reporting.
- Maintain payroll documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance records.
- Participate in payroll process improvements, system implementations, and automation initiatives.
- Generate payroll metrics, reports, and dashboards for management review.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, data privacy regulations, and internal controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 36 years of experience in payroll operations, preferably supporting global or multi-country payroll.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxation, statutory compliance, and labor regulations.
- Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday Payroll, SAP HCM Payroll, SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, Oracle HCM, Ceridian Dayforce, or UKG.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and payroll reconciliation processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers and global payroll vendors.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting payroll across APAC, EMEA, North America, or LATAM regions.
- Exposure to HRIS systems and payroll integrations.
- Knowledge of SOX controls, GDPR, and payroll governance requirements.
- Payroll certification or relevant HR/Finance certification is an added advantage.
