Generative AI Engineer

• Job Title- Agentic Ai Engineer,
• Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid 3 days onsite).

About the Role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience who can

• Design and build agentic AI capabilities for a core help domain (multi-step reasoning, tool calling, state management, safe automation) end-to-end.
• Develop and maintain backend components/APIs using Node.js/TypeScript and Java (Spring/Spring Boot); contribute to Muse UI and Python ingestion where needed.
• Implement RAG and fine-tuned LLM workflows to ground agent reasoning with policy, transaction data, and internal knowledge sources.
• Build scalable services that integrate with eBay systems; drive observability/monitoring/testing; ensure operational excellence in production.
• Define guardrails, fallback logic, and safety patterns for compliance, privacy, auditability, and trustworthy automation.
• Partner with Product, Data, Knowledge, Risk, CX, and Security to define agent behavior, success metrics, and continuous improvement loops.
• Create feature designs and test plans; break features into sub-tasks; proactively remove blockers and drive on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement -

• 58 years of software development experience (or MS + 5) with strong CS
• fundamentals, distributed systems, and problem-solving; owns a functional area with in-depth knowledge.
• Proficiency in developing backend services in Java (Spring / Spring Boot).
• Experience designing and scaling microservices, APIs, and workflow orchestration systems; familiarity with session/context storage (e.g., NuDocument/NuKV).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, or retrieval-based systems (RAG); strong data modeling, SQL/NoSQL; integrating with internal/external APIs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong focus on secure coding, privacy, auditability, and operational excellence in production environments.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to agentic architectures, planning/execution patterns, tool-calling protocols (e.g., MCP Server Read/Write).
• Experience with embedding/vectorization pipelines and semantic search systems; familiarity with PII anonymization (e.g., Presidio).
• Experience integrating with enterprise LLM gateways (e.g., OpenAI APIs via gateway abstractions).
• Exposure to e-commerce workflows (returns, payments, risk/fraud). Background with knowledge ingestion pipelines (e.g., Python/Krylov) or enterprise content processing.
• Experience building dashboards and metrics for agent quality/performance in the owned functional area.

Work Model

• Hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite in Bangalore, India.
