About the role:

This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and steering the overall business strategy to foster business growth. You will lead multi-functional teams and manage the organization's business and daily activities to ensure delivery of quality services to customers. You will also develop and implement effective business strategies and programs to expand the business footprint in the industry. Core duties encompass a broad range of tasks, including monitoring cash flow and setting sales targets as well as managing people and teams. You are also responsible for spearheading the planning and execution of program and project delivery. This role is to be based in Chennai, India

Responsibilities:

• Devise overall business strategy to achieve business targets and execute strategies to support business growth and expansion
• Analyse and map the size of new business opportunities in the short to medium term for future planning
• Identify profitable and sustainable new markets and develop sales strategies and tactical plans to penetrate these markets
• Create new pipelines in various market segments to achieve order targets
• Work on business development for Mobility Rail (MRL) and other lines of businesses
• Strategise and develop local partnerships
• Spearhead policies, strategies and directional growth
• Establish and build government relations with relevant national and local authorities to enable all clusters
• Responsible for country P&L, manage financial performance to ensure financial health
• Manage budgets and sales revenue efficiently
• Evaluate business performance, productivity, and competitiveness
• Collaborate with industry players to drive an awareness and preference for the companys product offerings
• Manage suppliers and partners to achieve best support and competitive pricing
• Oversee project execution, manage projects efficiently to ensure successful delivery
• Oversee in-country manufacturing activities
• Ensure all departments and functions work cohesively towards common objectives
• Manage people and teams effectively to drive retention
• Establish entity as a subsidiary and set up different functions in organisation expansion to drive towards a stable growth state

Requirements:

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or related fields
• Minimum 10 years' experience in leadership positions
• Strong in strategic thinking with excellent market-driven business development skills
• Able to translate strategy into action with strong execution capabilities
• Adept at overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth running of the business
• Able to manage P&L with strong financial acumen
• Possess financial literacy to make sound business decisions and skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and understanding the financial implications of business decisions
• Strong leadership capabilities and people management skills
• Able to inspire, lead, develop and coach teams, set clear goals and motivate employees to achieve high performance
• Possess high level of integrity and a role model
