Functional Safety Engineer (Software & Controls)

We are seeking a skilled professional to support safety-critical development in ADAS and autonomous driving projects.

The Role

Planning, coordination and proceeding of safety activities in safety-related development projects in appliance of requirements out of ISO26262, ISO 21448 and other safety standards, E.g. Hazard and risk analysis, generation of safety concepts for ADAS feature and supported in safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) to support advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving projects

Experience:

• 7 years in Functional Safety
• Minimum 2 years in SOTIF (ISO 21448) Preferable
• Salary Budget Upto 20 LPA

Education:

B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineering

Key Competencies:

Strong understanding of ISO 26262 & ISO 21448

Expertise in HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP

Experience in SOTIF analysis for ADAS features, including identification of triggering conditions and unknown unsafe scenarios

Development of Functional & Technical Safety Concepts (FSC/TSC)

Exposure to ASIL A/B/C processes and safety V&V activities

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and execute functional safety activities in compliance with ISO 26262 & ISO 21448

Perform hazard analysis and develop safety concepts for ADAS systems

Evaluate safety-critical functions and ensure standard compliance

Prepare and maintain safety work products

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

Support requirement analysis, development, integration, and testing

Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work in cross-functional environments are essential.

Prepare work products for compliance with ISO 21448

Analysis and evaluation of safety - critical functions according to the requirements of the standard and component- related safety concepts

Coaching of customers and project teams

Take part in project reviews, internally and the customer

Interact with external customer as per the project requirement (customer and counterpart team)
