Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 USD per year.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Frontend Developer at AirBills. The Frontend Developer will build and maintain user-facing features for the web platform, including dashboards, reporting views, and workflow screens that help customers manage and optimize their utility bills. Responsibilities include translating product requirements and designs into clean, efficient, and accessible interfaces, implementing responsive layouts across devices, and integrating frontend components with backend APIs. The role involves collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to frontend architecture and performance improvements. The Frontend Developer will also help maintain design and component consistency, write automated tests, and troubleshoot user-facing issues in production.

Qualifications

• Strong Front-End Development skills, including modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and component-based architectures.
• Proficiency in Responsive Web Design, including HTML5, CSS3 (or CSS-in-JS, preprocessors), and building interfaces that work across browsers and devices.
• Solid foundation in Web Development and Software Development fundamentals, such as version control (Git), testing, debugging, performance optimization, and RESTful API integration.
• Familiarity with Back-End Web Development concepts and collaboration with backend services (e.g., Node.js, Python, or similar) is a plus.
• Experience working in a remote, collaborative team environment, with clear communication and documentation practices.
• Ability to translate product requirements and UX designs into accessible, user-friendly interfaces, with attention to detail and usability.

What Youll Do

Build and maintain modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and contemporary frontend tooling.

Design and develop intuitive user experiences for AI-powered workflows and automation products.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to ship features quickly and reliably.

Integrate frontend applications with APIs, data platforms, and AI services.

Improve application performance, reliability, accessibility, and scalability.

Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.

Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering velocity and product quality.

Help establish frontend best practices, design systems, and reusable component libraries.

What Were Looking For

2+ years of strong experience building modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser performance, and accessibility best practices.

Experience working with REST APIs, GraphQL, or modern backend integrations.

Familiarity with AI-native development workflows and modern engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar.

Experience building data-intensive applications, dashboards, internal tools, or SaaS products.

Strong product thinking and ability to translate user problems into intuitive interfaces.

Experience with testing, debugging, monitoring, and frontend performance optimization.

Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.

Nice to Have

Experience working with LLMs, AI APIs, agentic workflows, or AI-powered products.

Experience with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, GraphQL, or modern frontend frameworks.

Experience in PropTech, FinTech, SaaS, workflow automation, or data products.
