About Urbanity AI
Urbanity AI is a deep tech computer vision company building a real-time, on-device vision system designed for deployment in complex, real-world environments. We are at prototype stage with an external engineering partner and are now building internal technical ownership in parallel. The objective is to move from prototype to a robust, production-ready system fully owned and operated in-house.

Role Overview
This is the first internal technical hire at Urbanity AI. It is a hands-on, execution-focused role. You will work alongside the ongoing prototype development, independently building and validating critical system components, reviewing vendor output, identifying risks, and ensuring the company is not dependent on a single implementation path.
This is not a leadership or advisory role. You will be in the code every day.

Key Responsibilities

Work in parallel with the external development team to build and validate core system components independently
Review and assess the vendor-built prototype, identify technical gaps, risks, and architectural concerns
Develop independent implementations of critical modules where required
Build and optimise the edge computer vision pipeline for real-world deployment conditions
Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to latency, throughput, and system stability
Ensure system design accounts for continuous operation in uncontrolled environments
Contribute across the full stack as needed: edge inference, model layer, backend integration

Required Experience

Hands-on experience deploying computer vision models on edge hardware (Jetson or equivalent) in a production or field environmen
tExperience building or directly working with real-time video pipelines under continuous loa
dDemonstrated ability to debug system-level issues: performance degradation, memory pressure, thermal behaviour, runtime instabilit
yExperience working on systems that operate continuously in real-world conditions, not only in development or batch setting
sAbility to take end-to-end ownership beyond model development: pipeline, integration, infrastructur

Compensation
This is a pre-funding role. Compensation at this stage is equity-led, with a structured transition to a competitive full-time salary once funding is secured. Equity participation is at founding level.
