Firewall / Network Security Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Firewall / Network Security Engineer to design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall and network security infrastructure. The role involves handling production environments, security policies, incident response, and ensuring high availability and compliance.

Location: As per business requirement (Pune, Mumbai)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage enterprise firewall environments
• Implement and maintain security policies, NAT, VPN, and routing rules
• Handle L2/L3 firewall support in 24x7 production environments
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, latency, and security issues
• Perform firewall rule reviews, optimization, and cleanup
• Manage site-to-site and remote access VPNs
• Support DC, DR, and cloud network security setups
• Coordinate with SOC, Network, Server, and Application teams
• Handle security incidents, alerts, and change requests
• Ensure compliance, audit readiness, and documentation
• Perform firewall upgrades, patching, and HA failover testing
• Create SOPs, diagrams, and RCA reports

Firewall & Security Technologies

Firewalls: FortiGate, Cisco ASA / Firepower

VPN: IPsec, SSL VPN, AnyConnect

Security Features: IPS/IDS, URL Filtering, Anti-Virus, App Control

Networking Skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing & switching basics
• Protocols: BGP, OSPF, Static routing
• VLANs, Subnets, NAT, ACLs
• DNS, DHCP fundamentals

Monitoring & Tools

• Firewall logs analysis
• Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios)

Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination
• Ability to handle high-severity incidents calmly
• Experience working in ITIL / Change Management processes

• Fortinet NSE 4/5/7
• CCNP Security
