Complyance is a global e-invoicing and tax-compliance platform delivered as a single API. We help businesses go live with country-specific e-invoicing starting with the UAE and KSA and extending to 100+ countries in days rather than months. We are a UAE pre-approved Accredited Service Provider, with native Peppol support, a proprietary GETS framework, and a developer-first ethos. Were a Chennai-headquartered, fast-moving startup building category-defining infrastructure for global commerce. Regulators worldwide are mandating real-time e-invoicing on tight timelines, and ERPs arent keeping up. Every business operating across borders will need what were building and they need it now. Youll join a small team where the work is direct, the feedback loops are short, and the impact compounds quickly.

Role Overview:

• You will be the founding finance hire on the ground in Chennai - owning the books, monthly close, statutory compliance, payroll coordination, AR/AP, and management reporting across our four entities: India, the United States, Malaysia, and the UAE. Youll work directly with the founders, build our finance stack from a clean slate with AI embedded into every workflow, and grow into a finance leader as we scale.

• This is a high-intensity role. Month-end closes across four entities and time zones, regulatory deadlines that dont move, and a finance function being built from scratch - the work is demanding and the pace is real. If youre energized by tight deadlines, high ownership, and ambiguity, youll do your best work here. If youre looking for a predictable, steady-state finance role, this wont be the right fit.

What youll own:

• End-to-end accounting and the monthly close across all four entities (India, US, Malaysia, UAE) - bookkeeping, accruals, intercompany flows, FX, and reconciliations.

• Statutory and tax compliance across jurisdictions: GST, TDS, ROC filings, and transfer pricing inputs in India; UAE corporate tax and VAT; US federal and state filings (sales tax, franchise tax, federal income tax); Malaysia SST and corporate tax partnering closely with our in-region internal audit teams in each geography to plan, file, and close out compliance.

• AR / AP at global scale multi-currency customer invoicing, vendor payments, expense management, and cash-flow forecasting across four entities and several currencies.

• Global payroll, ESOP cap-table updates, and benefits coordination with the people lead and external partners across India, US, Malaysia, and UAE.

• A management reporting pack the founders and board can trust consolidated P&L, burn, runway, ARR, and unit economics, with clean entity-level cuts.

• Finance systems and SOPs from scratch - Zoho Books (or equivalent) for the core ledger, layered with expense, AP, banking, and FX tools, codified into SOPs as we hire.

• Revenue operations - partner with sales and CS on revenue recognition, billing edge cases, and contract-to-cash.

• AI-first finance operations - embed LLMs and AI tooling into bookkeeping, document extraction, reconciliations, anomaly detection, MIS commentary drafting, and close acceleration. Youll be expected to actively evaluate and adopt new AI tools that compress finance ops, not just run the old playbook faster.

• SaaS business metrics ownership - define, instrument, and own the source of truth for ARR, MRR, NRR, GRR, CAC, LTV, CAC payback, gross margin, burn multiple, and Rule of 40. Build the data pipeline from CRM and billing into a consistent metrics layer, and publish them in a format the founders and the board can rely on without second-guessing.

Required qualifications:

• 58 years of progressive experience in accounting / finance.

• Hands-on with Indian statutory compliance (GST, TDS, ROC) and exposure to multi-entity / cross-border accounting across two or more jurisdictions.

• Comfortable closing books in Zoho Books or equivalent (Tally, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and building financial models in Excel / Sheets.

• Working fluency with AI tools in a finance context comfortable using Claude, ChatGPT, or similar to draft, reconcile, classify, summarize, and automate routine work. You actively look for things to take off your plate with AI, and have opinions on what AI does and doesnt do well in finance.

• Hands-on experience with SaaS business metrics ARR, MRR, NRR, GRR, CAC, LTV, CAC payback, gross margin, burn multiple, and Rule of 40 including how theyre constructed from billing and CRM data and reported to founders and investors.

• Detail-obsessed, ownership-first, comfortable being the only finance person in the room and asking for help when you need it.

• Strong written communication; able to explain numbers to non-finance founders and external auditors with equal ease.

Preferred qualifications:

• CA, CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent qualification is preferred but a strong, demonstrable track record without formal qualification is equally welcome.

• At least 2 years in an early-stage startup environment.

• Exposure to UAE / GCC accounting, VAT, or corporate tax.

• Exposure to US GAAP, US state-level tax compliance, or Malaysian accounting and SST.

• Experience in a B2B SaaS company with subscription revenue and ASC 606 / Ind AS 115 considerations.

• Familiarity with ESOP administration and cap-table tools (Carta, Qapita).

• Prior experience setting up the finance stack at a multi-entity startup.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Total CTC of 12 LPA - inclusive of fixed pay, ESOPs, and other perks. The final package will be commensurate with experience, skills, and interview performance.
