About the Role


We're building AGS's AI Engineering team from the ground up, and we need a people leader to help us scale. The Engineering Manager, AI Solutions owns team health, delivery capacity, and career development for our India-based engineering team.


This is a people management role, not a technical leadership role. You'll partner closely with the Head of AI Engineering on priorities and direction, but your primary focus is enabling your team to do their best workhiring great people, removing blockers, and building a high-performance engineering culture.


You'll manage a growing team of engineers, architects, analysts, and QA professionals who are building intelligent agents, conversational interfaces, and AI-powered capabilities for AGS's global clients.


What You'll Do


Team Leadership & Development

Build and lead a high-performing engineering team (starting at ~10, scaling to 20+)

Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development

Conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching, and create growth opportunities

Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and engineering excellence


Delivery Management

Ensure predictable delivery against committed timelines

Manage capacity planning, workload distribution, and resource allocation

Track team metrics (velocity, quality, delivery) and drive continuous improvement

Remove blockers and escalate issues before they become problems


Stakeholder Coordination

Partner with Head of AI Engineering on technical priorities and roadmap

Coordinate with business stakeholders on delivery expectations

Communicate team status, risks, and accomplishments to leadership

Work across time zones with North America leadership


Operational Excellence

Establish and refine team processes (agile ceremonies, code review, deployment)

Drive adoption of engineering best practices and standards

Manage team budget and resource planning

Ensure compliance with AGS governance and security requirements


What You'll Bring

Required

7+ years of experience in technology roles, with 3+ years in engineering management

Proven track record of building and leading engineering teams (10+ people)

Experience with agile/scrum delivery methodologies

Strong hiring skillsyou've built teams, not just inherited them

Excellent communication skills, especially with distributed/remote teams

Comfort working across time zones (overlap with US Eastern time required)


Preferred

Experience in AI/ML, automation, or low-code/no-code platforms

Background in Microsoft technologies (Power Platform, Azure)

Experience in staffing, HR tech, or workforce management industry

Familiarity with conversational AI or agent development

Previous experience in a matrixed, global organization
