Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • P&L Ownership:Take full responsibility for the Profit & Loss statement of the assigned category.
  • Assortment Planning:Decide which products to add, keep, or remove based on market trends and customer demand.
  • Strategy Development:Create long-term plans to outshine competitors and capture market share.
  • Competitive Pricing:Monitor competitor prices daily and adjust your own to stay competitive while maintaining margins.
  • Promotional Calendars:Plan and execute seasonal sales, "deal of the day" events, and bundle offers.
  • Markdown Management:Strategically lower prices for slow-moving stock to clear inventory without heavy losses.
  • Vendor Relations:Negotiate better terms, pricing, and exclusive product launches with vendors.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:Work withMarketing(for ads),IT(for site layout), andSupply Chain(to ensure stock availability).
  • Product Listings:Ensure high-quality images, accurate descriptions, and SEO-optimised titles.
  • Discoverability:Collaborate with SEO/SEM teams to ensure products rank high in search results.
