Subject Matter Expert (SME) Digital Forensics & Data Analytics

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Digital Forensics and Data Analytics to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in forensic investigations, digital evidence analysis, data interpretation, and investigative methodologies.

As an SME, you will provide technical leadership, support complex investigations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the enhancement of data-driven investigative solutions and analytical frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Forensics & Investigation

• Perform forensic acquisition and analysis of digital devices including desktops, servers, mobile devices, and storage systems.
• Collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence using industry-standard forensic methodologies and tools.
• Conduct detailed analysis of file systems, memory dumps, logs, emails, internet activity, and digital artifacts.
• Analyze suspicious files and digital artifacts to determine origin, behavior, and impact.
• Prepare forensic reports and maintain proper documentation of investigation findings.

Subject Matter Expertise

• Act as the organizations Subject Matter Expert for digital forensics and investigative analytics.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Assist in defining best practices, SOPs, and investigation methodologies.
• Support solution development and enhancement initiatives by contributing domain expertise.

Data Analytics & Process Improvement

• Conduct analysis of business processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Interpret large datasets to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve analytical capabilities and reporting mechanisms.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in digital forensics and data analytics.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders during investigations and assessments.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor junior team members when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proven experience in digital forensics and investigative analysis.
• Hands-on experience with forensic tools such as:
• EnCase
• FTK
• X-Ways Forensics
• Autopsy
• Volatility
• Strong understanding of:
• Operating systems and file systems
• Data storage technologies
• Network logs and digital artifacts
• Memory analysis and evidence preservation
• Experience in analyzing structured and unstructured datasets.
• Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools is preferred.
