Job Title

PAY.ON Application Operations Support Engineer (L2 / L3)

Role Summary

The PAY.ON Application Operations Support Engineer is responsible for 24x7 production support, stability, and availability of the PAY.ON payment processing platform. The role ensures incident resolution, proactive monitoring, change support, and operational excellence for missioncritical merchant payment systems in a highavailability, PCIcompliant BFSI environment.

Key Responsibilities

Application Operations & Production Support

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for PAY.ON application across Prod and NonProd environments
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and problem management as per ITIL processes
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
  • Participate in 24x7 oncall support and weekend coverage on rotation basis

Monitoring, Alerting & Stability

  • Monitor PAY.ON services using APM, infrastructure, and application logs
  • Perform proactive health checks to prevent incidents
  • Reduce alert noise and improve MTTR / MTTT metrics
  • Coordinate with Infra, Network, DB, and Middleware teams during outages

Change, Patch & Release Support

  • Support OS upgrades, application releases, and patching activities
  • Validate changes through smoke testing, regression testing, and postdeployment checks
  • Ensure zero/low customer impact during production deployments
  • Maintain rollback and failover readiness

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Create and maintain:
  • SOPs / Runbooks
  • Known Error Database (KEDB)
  • Operational checklists and handover notes
  • Ensure auditready documentation for PCI and regulatory compliance

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Skills

  • 48 years of experience in Application Production Support (L2/L3)
  • Experience in BFSI / Payments / Merchant Operations
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform) -Mandatory skills.
  • Linux System Administration
  • Shell and Python scripting
  • Basic SQL and database knowledge
  • Monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Change and incident management process knowledge
  • Source control management (Git), etc.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes
