Job Description
We're hiring a visiting design thinking instructor for a 3-week intensive in Coimbatore, India this June. Access USA (AUSA) is seeking an instructor for our Global Young Scholar (GYS) program, which runs from June 122, 2026.
In this role, you will lead seven Grade 10 cohorts through a course you design from the ground up, following the Stanford d.school / IDEO tradition: human-centered, interactive, hands-on, and project-driven. You will have full latitude over the curriculum.
Key details of the role include:
- Teaching 7 cohorts of Grade 10 students at a partner school in Coimbatore
- M/W/F: three 90-minute sessions per day
- T/Th/Sa: four 70-minute sessions per day
- Full creative control of the course arc
Who we're looking for:
- Currently affiliated with a US college or university (PhD candidate, post-doc, adjunct, lecturer, or faculty)
- Fluent in design thinking methodology with prior teaching experience
- Experience teaching high-school-age students
- Holds a valid US passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity
- Available to begin the India visa process immediately
Compensation includes:
- $2,000$3,000 honorarium, depending on experience
- All approved travel covered: round-trip international airfare, in-country travel, lodging, and meals
- Independent contractor engagement; IRS Form W-9 required
