About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven and experienced Deputy Zonal Manager Sales to lead and expand General Insurance business operations across Maharashtra. This leadership role involves managing multi-layered sales teams, driving regional business strategy, and ensuring strong execution across multiple territories.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in handling geographically spread field sales teams and must be comfortable with frequent travel across the entire Maharashtra region for business operations, team management, and market expansion activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Area Managers, Team Leaders, and large field sales teams across Maharashtra
- Drive zonal sales performance and ensure achievement of business targets and KPIs
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with organizational growth goals
- Conduct regular performance reviews, field visits, training sessions, and skip-level meetings
- Monitor sales productivity and improve operational efficiency across territories
- Build strong relationships with key channel partners, clients, and stakeholders
- Analyze market trends, business performance, and sales metrics to identify growth opportunities
- Ensure proper implementation of company policies, IRDAI compliance, and audit standards
- Drive business expansion initiatives across urban and semi-urban markets in Maharashtra
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless execution of sales operations
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Graduate in any discipline
- MBA preferred
Experience
- Minimum 710 years of experience in General Insurance Sales
- At least 35 years of experience managing Area Managers / Team Leaders
- Strong experience handling zonal or multi-location sales operations
- Proven track record of managing large field sales teams across regions
Mandatory Requirements
- Proficiency in Marathi (spoken)
- Strong experience in General Insurance Sales
- Must be willing to travel extensively across Maharashtra
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams
- Strong understanding of Maharashtra insurance markets and distribution networks
