Defence Reporter

Republic Media Network is looking for a passionate, dynamic, and sharp Defense Reporter (Delhi- NCR based) to join our editorial team.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of defense, national security, military affairs, strategic policy, and geopolitical developments, with the ability to break impactful stories and deliver accurate, compelling coverage across platforms.

We are hiring for the following positions in the Defense domain:

Defense Reporter

Correspondent

Senior Correspondent

Defense Editor

Deputy Editor Defense

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover defense, military, and national security-related developments across India and globally
• Break exclusive stories and deliver real-time updates from the field
• Build and maintain strong sources across defense establishments, armed forces, government bodies, and strategic communities
• Attend press briefings, defense events, military exercises, and high-level interactions
• Produce high-quality reports, live broadcasts, ground reports, and digital content under tight deadlines
• Collaborate closely with editorial, production, and digital teams for comprehensive coverage
• Ensure factual accuracy, editorial integrity, and responsible journalism at all times

Requirements:

• Prior experience in defense, conflict, political, or investigative reporting preferred
• Strong understanding of defense affairs, security policies, geopolitics, and current affairs
• Excellent reporting, writing, and on-ground communication skills
• Ability to work in high-pressure and fast-paced news environments
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours when required
• Strong source-building and storytelling abilities will be an added advantage
