Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

Design secure, reliable, and efficient database systems using Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, following established Database Standards.
Configure and maintain database servers and database processes.
Manage database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management.
Perform cluster management activities, including node addition, bootstrapping, node removal, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-data center (Multi-DC) configuration.
Install and manage Oracle RAC environments.
Monitor database environments and perform management, capacity planning, and compaction strategy activities.
Work with business teams to understand data requirements and design solutions that simplify business processes.
Ensure solutions address relevant data concerns and business requirements.
Document operative requirements across all technical aspects of the solution, including UI, business rules, task and activity coordination, and technical integrations.
Present data using data models.
Utilize and support database solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Required Skills and Experience

Experience in cluster management, including adding, bootstrapping, and removing nodes, consistency tuning, replication, and Multi-DC configuration.
Experience in Oracle RAC installation and management.
Experience in database monitoring, management, capacity planning, and compaction strategy.
Experience in database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management.
Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is mandatory.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts effectively.
Ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse disciplines and varying levels of technical expertise.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
