Job Description

Role Overview

The Senior Data Specialist will act as a player-coach, leading a team responsible for document collection operations. The role involves managing end-to-end workflows, ensuring timely data collection within SLAs, maintaining data accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency. This position is critical in ensuring seamless document ingestion and supporting downstream data processing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and supervise a team of data specialists with effective task allocation and performance monitoring
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide mentorship, feedback, and support career development
  • Ensure team discipline, adherence to policies, and a professional work environment
  • Manage attendance, leave planning, and team availability

Operations & Delivery

  • Oversee daily BAU operations and document collection workflows
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within defined SLAs
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and resolve operational issues
  • Provide real-time floor support and ensure workflow continuity

Document Collection & Data Handling

  • Manage end-to-end document collection pipeline from multiple sources and portals

  • Ensure accurate and timely upload of documents into internal systems
  • Monitor data connections and resolve failures proactively
  • Maintain data quality through regular audits and validations

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with onboarding, product, and engineering teams to improve processes and tools
  • Coordinate with external data providers and internal teams for issue resolution
  • Assist in tracking and resolving system issues via ticketing tools

Process Improvement & Training

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Support onboarding, knowledge transfer, and training initiatives
  • Maintain and update workflow documentation and SOPs

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in operations, data management, or financial/fintech domain
  • Proven experience in team handling and stakeholder management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Salesforce, Google Suite, and Excel (preferred)
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and process adherence skills
