Role Overview
The Senior Data Specialist will act as a player-coach, leading a team responsible for document collection operations. The role involves managing end-to-end workflows, ensuring timely data collection within SLAs, maintaining data accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency. This position is critical in ensuring seamless document ingestion and supporting downstream data processing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and supervise a team of data specialists with effective task allocation and performance monitoring
- Conduct regular 1:1s, provide mentorship, feedback, and support career development
- Ensure team discipline, adherence to policies, and a professional work environment
- Manage attendance, leave planning, and team availability
Operations & Delivery
- Oversee daily BAU operations and document collection workflows
- Ensure all tasks are completed within defined SLAs
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and resolve operational issues
- Provide real-time floor support and ensure workflow continuity
Document Collection & Data Handling
- Manage end-to-end document collection pipeline from multiple sources and portals
- Ensure accurate and timely upload of documents into internal systems
- Monitor data connections and resolve failures proactively
- Maintain data quality through regular audits and validations
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with onboarding, product, and engineering teams to improve processes and tools
- Coordinate with external data providers and internal teams for issue resolution
- Assist in tracking and resolving system issues via ticketing tools
Process Improvement & Training
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Support onboarding, knowledge transfer, and training initiatives
- Maintain and update workflow documentation and SOPs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in operations, data management, or financial/fintech domain
- Proven experience in team handling and stakeholder management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Experience with tools like Jira, Salesforce, Google Suite, and Excel (preferred)
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and process adherence skills
