Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and international regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Assist in the formulation, implementation, and review of data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines across the organization and for clients.
- Maintain detailed records of data processing activities, privacy policies, consent records, and related documentation to meet legal, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate data processing activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and client-specific privacy obligations.
- Coordinate and liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, internal stakeholders, and clients on matters relating to data privacy, compliance, and governance.
- Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of privacy and data protection risks across business operations and technology processes.
- Stay updated on evolving privacy regulations, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, and assess their impact on organizational compliance obligations.
Key Skills Required
- Strong understanding of data protection laws, privacy regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of Indian privacy regulations and global standards, including GDPR and the DPDPA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and their implications on privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Information Security, Law, or a related field.
- Certification in Data Protection, Privacy Management, or related disciplines will be preferred.
- 12 years of relevant experience in Data Privacy, Data Protection, Compliance, or Privacy Management.
- Familiarity with Indian regulatory and compliance frameworks, including RBI and SEBI requirements, will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of data governance principles, privacy frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and coordination skills.
