About the role: The Data Platform Consultant (Microsoft Fabric & Databricks) will design, implement, and optimise modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks as the primary analytics and data engineering platforms. This role focuses on building scalable, governed Lakehouse-first architectures that support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases, while integrating operational data and enabling near-real-time insight where required.

Responsibilities:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, and Power BI integration
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks including Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, and performance optimisation
• Experience designing Bronze, Silver, and Gold data architectures
• Experience with ingestion and orchestration using Fabric Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks Workflows
• Familiarity with Azure Synapse Link for near-real-time analytics scenarios
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Good understanding of data governance, security, and metadata-driven architectures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with client stakeholders

• Develop and optimise data pipelines and transformations
