TCS is looking for Data Engineer

Experience: 4-8 years

Location: Kolkata

JOB REQUIREMENT:

4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles
Strong experience in designing and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Proficiency in Python, SQL and exposure to Java/Scala for data processing
Hands-on experience with data integration from multiple sources (APIs, DBs, flat files)
Experience with data warehousing and storage solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
Knowledge of big data technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling)
Familiarity with ETL tools (Airflow, Informatica, Talend, NiFi)
Exposure to containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance practices
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time)
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficient data processing
Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, and external systems
Implement data transformation logic for cleaning, enrichment, and standardization
Manage and optimize data storage solutions (data lakes, warehouses, NoSQL/relational DBs)
Automate data workflows and improve pipeline performance
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline failures and bottlenecks
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business teams for data requirements
Maintain documentation for pipelines, schemas, and data processes
Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms for data systems
