Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler with hands-on experience in PySpark, Python, and Google Cloud Platform to design and manage scalable data models. The ideal candidate will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform business requirements into efficient and high-performance data structures supporting analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Translate business requirements into efficient data structures and relationships
• Develop data models for data warehouses, data marts, and operational systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement models using PySpark and GCP pipelines
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and governance across systems
• Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation
• Perform impact analysis for schema and structural changes
• Support data quality initiatives and enforce modeling standards
• Contribute to data architecture discussions and best practices

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (Conceptual, Logical, Physical)
• Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark
• Experience working with GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc)
• Strong proficiency in SQL
• Experience with relational databases and schema design
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star & Snowflake Schema)
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
• Experience with data modeling tools (ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, etc.)
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark, Hive, Snowflake)
• Knowledge of data lake / lakehouse architectures
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
