Data Engineer

Role Overview/Your Impact

Own and manage data ingestion and operational data workflows across multiple source systems.

Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, source data structures, and operational dependencies.

Execute and monitor ingestion processes for structured and semi-structured data with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.

Perform data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation to maintain high data quality Standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related operational issues, pipeline failures, and ingestion

inconsistencies in a timely manner.

Partner with engineering and data teams to optimize workflows, improve automation, and enhance system efficiency.

Mentor and guide junior team members on data handling, troubleshooting approaches, process discipline, and engineering best practices.

Support junior engineers in resolving issues, improving technical skills, and delivering work with quality and consistency.

Create and maintain clear documentation for data processes, operational runbooks, validation rules, and issue resolution procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline data operations and reduce manual effort.

Stay current with industry practices, tools, and technologies in data engineering, data integration, cloud platforms, and emerging AI-enabled data solutions.

What Does the team do

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Engineer-Data Engineering & AI to join our team and play a key role in building and managing reliable data operations that support critical business processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, engineering, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring that data from multiple sources is ingested, validated, processed, and made available accurately and efficiently. Beyond day-to-day execution, you will also contribute to improving data workflows, strengthening data quality, and driving greater scalability and consistency across our data operations landscape. This role also requires the ability to support, mentor, and guide junior team members, helping establish strong engineering discipline, operational rigor, and consistent execution standards across the team.

Our Expectations

Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

35 years of proven, hands on experience in data engineering, data operations, ETL, data integration, or related roles.

Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases.

Good hands-on programming experience in Python; JavaScript knowledge will be an added advantage.

Solid understanding of data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, and related file-based data exchange patterns.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to mentor, guide, and review the work of junior team members.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.

Experience with ETL and data integration tools such as Apache NiFi & Airflow, Talend, or similar platforms.

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Understanding of data warehousing, data pipeline concepts, and data lifecycle management.

Familiarity with process automation, operational monitoring, and data quality controls.

Experience in supporting production data workflows and handling operational incidents.

Exposure to AI/ML concepts, AI-assisted data processing, or AI-enabled data platforms will be an advantage.
