Data Engineer

Position Description:

Data Engineering Job Title: Senior PLM Data Migration & Integration Engineer (Teamcenter) Location: [Ford GTBC - Chennai / Hybrid] Experience Level: 7+ Years Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled PLM Data Management specialist to lead the consolidation of Teamcenter sites and the development of automated data-sharing solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in the Teamcenter Data Model and a proven track record of executing high-volume data migrations. A key focus of this role is leveraging cloud technologies to build scalable, high-performance migration tools that ensure data integrity and operational continuity across global sites. Required Technical Skills Core Teamcenter: Deep knowledge of Teamcenter Data Model, Structure Manager, and BOM Management. Migration Tools: Proven experience with Teamcenter site consolidation, PLM XML, and high-volume data migration/validation. Development: Proficiency in C, C++, and Java for Teamcenter customization (ITK and SOA). Configuration: Expert-level BMIDE (Business Modeler IDE) skills. Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in Python, Batch, and Linux Shell scripting. Database: Advanced RDBMS usage with a focus on Oracle (SQL development and performance tuning). Cloud & DevOps: Experience utilizing cloud platforms (GCP) to scale migration workloads; familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps methodologies. Collaboration: Experience with Teamcenter Multi-site, ODS, and synchronization protocols. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience in "Teamcenter Operations" including production support and system performance monitoring. Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting data discrepancies between source and target systems.

Site Consolidation & Migration: Lead the end-to-end execution of Teamcenter site consolidations, including data mapping, extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and validation. Automation Development: Design and develop automated data-sharing and migration utilities utilizing Teamcenter APIs (ITK, SOA) and cloud-native services to ensure scalability. Multi-site Management: Configure and manage Teamcenter Multi-site collaboration, including Data Share and Data Sync processes across disparate environments. System Customization: Use BMIDE to manage data model changes and develop custom server-side (ITK) and client-side (SOA) solutions to support migration logic. High-Volume Execution: Manage and monitor high-volume data transfers, ensuring minimal downtime and robust error handling/recovery during production execution. Infrastructure & DevOps: Implement CI/CD pipelines for PLM deployments and utilize scripting (Python/Linux) to automate routine operations and environment setups. Database Optimization: Perform complex SQL queries and RDBMS tuning (Oracle) to support data analysis and migration integrity checks.
