About Us:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Engineer - dbt Admin. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in dbt administration, SQL, and Python, along with hands-on experience in modern data engineering and cloud-based data platforms.

The candidate will play a critical role in designing, managing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise data transformation pipelines and analytics workflows. This role requires close collaboration with client stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, QA teams, and production support teams in a fast-paced financial environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Administer, maintain, and optimize dbt environments, projects, and deployments.

Develop, enhance, and support scalable data transformation pipelines using dbt.

Build and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.

Develop Python scripts/utilities for automation, monitoring, and operational support.

Manage dbt jobs, scheduling, dependencies, testing, and documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

Collaborate with business users and technical teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions.

Support data validation, reconciliation, and data quality initiatives.

Monitor daily data operations and production support activities.

Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and financial industry compliance standards.

Participate in release deployments, code reviews, and change management activities.

Coordinate with USA-based client teams during EST business hours.

Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.

This position involves collaborating with software development, operations, and security teams to embed security controls into the software development lifecycle, monitor and respond to threats, mitigate vulnerabilities, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Required Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

45 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and dbt administration.

Strong expertise in dbt (Data Build Tool), including setup, administration, modeling, testing, and deployment.

Advanced SQL skills with experience handling large-scale datasets and complex transformations.

Strong programming experience in Python for automation and data processing.

Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data warehouse technologies.

Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling concepts.

Experience in production support, monitoring, and troubleshooting data pipelines.

Familiarity with Git/version control and CI/CD practices.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Snowflake, AWS.

Exposure to Airflow or enterprise scheduling/orchestration tools.

Experience working with financial services or banking domain clients.

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Experience supporting enterprise analytics and reporting environments.

Work Requirements:

Mandatory work-from-office role based in Hyderabad.

Must be willing to work night shifts aligned with USA EST business hours.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing offshore support environment.

Strong collaboration skills to work with onsite and offshore teams across multiple time zones.
