Role: Data Engineer

We are looking for experienced Data Engineers to support enterprise-scale Data, Analytics, AI / GenAI, and digital transformation initiatives for a leading global enterprise client.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Modelling, ETL, Data Warehousing, DBT, Data Vault, SQL, Python, and Azure / AWS cloud-based data solutions, with minimum 2+ years of hands-on DBT experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL processes and data pipelines for enterprise data warehouse environments.
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines, SQL queries, and database performance to meet SLAs.
• Implement modern data transformation practices using DBT.
• Develop Entity Relationship Diagrams and Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models.
• Apply data warehousing concepts such as Data Vault, OLAP, OLTP, SCD Type 1 / 2, historization, dimensional modelling, persistent staging, and change data capture.
• Collect, merge, clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources to solve business problems.
• Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, BI teams, business units, and technical stakeholders.
• Identify business metrics / KPIs and support delivery of actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Build scripts and automation to improve data processing, evaluation, logging, and repeatable data tasks.
• Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in data processes and implement improvements.
• Ensure responsible handling of sensitive customer data with awareness of GDPR, data privacy, and governance requirements.
• Work independently as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively across teams.

Key Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, Analytics, or related technology roles.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on DBT experience.
• Strong experience in Data Modelling and Data Vault concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, ETL concepts, and Data Warehousing.
• Strong understanding of OLAP, OLTP, dimensional modelling, historization, SCD Type 1 / 2, persistent staging, and change data capture.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure / AWS.
• Ability to design and optimize scalable data pipelines, queries, and database performance.
• Experience working with data architects, data scientists, BI teams, and business stakeholders.
• Understanding of data privacy, governance, GDPR, and ethical handling of sensitive data.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and ownership skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Azure cloud data services or AWS data technologies.
• Exposure to Data, Analytics, AI / GenAI transformation programs.
• Experience in enterprise-scale data platforms or regulated industry environments.
• Experience supporting BI, advanced analytics, or data science use cases.
