Title: Data & BI Analyst SDE-II

Experience: 3-5 years

Qualification: Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.

Role Overview:

As a Data & BI Analyst (SDE-I) at Caliper, you will be responsible for driving the organization's data-driven strategy by analyzing complex data, creating advanced BI reports, and providing actionable insights to improve business performance. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to identify data needs, designing sophisticated data models, and optimizing ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Data Analysis & Insights:

• Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that influence strategic business decisions.
• Provide advanced data-driven recommendations to support key business initiatives, such as product performance, customer behaviour, and operational efficiency.
• Deliver ad-hoc analysis to senior management and department heads in a clear and actionable format.

Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development:

• Design and maintain sophisticated dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools like Looker, AWS Quick sight or Power BI.
• Automate reporting processes and implement self-service BI solutions to empower stakeholders with real-time data insights.
• Develop and refine metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track organizational performance and support executive decision-making.

ETL Process Optimization:

• Oversee the development and optimization of ETL processes to ensure the smooth extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into centralized databases or data warehouses.
• Ensure ETL pipelines are designed for performance, scalability, and efficiency, monitoring for failures and resolving issues as needed.
• Work with data engineers and IT teams to design data pipelines that support advanced analytics and reporting requirements.

Data Modeling & Architecture:

• Build and maintain complex data models that align with business objectives and reporting requirements.
• Optimize database structures and data models to improve query performance and support future scalability.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data models meet technical and business requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

• Partner with cross-functional teams internally (product, engineering, operations) and Customer teamsto understand business needs and provide actionable insights based on data.
• Present key findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex data into easily understood business terms.
• Collaborate with leadership to define data strategy, develop business requirements, and support data governance initiatives.

Mentorship & Team Collaboration:

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, ensuring the quality of their work and supporting their professional development.
• Lead data-driven projects, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations to ensure successful delivery.
• Promote best practices in data analysis, reporting, and BI tool usage across the team.

Data Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure data accuracy, security, and integrity by adhering to data governance standards and best practices.
• Work to implement data quality checks, validation rules, and error-handling mechanisms to maintain high data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and internal data policies.

Technical Skills:

1. ETL Tools: Strong understanding of ETL tools and technologies (e.g., Amazon Kinesis, GLUE, DATABREW , HOLISTICS ETL) or willingness to learn. Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and ETL pipeline design.
2. Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
3. SQL: Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
4. NOSQL: Advanced proficiency in NOSQL databases like MongoDB.
5. Data Visualization: Expertise with data visualization tools (Looker Studio, AWS Quick sight, Power BI). Advanced knowledge of Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
6. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with data modelling and optimization for both relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques (predictive modelling, clustering, etc.) is preferred.

Communication:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings clearly.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with stakeholders to define and prioritize reporting needs.
• Present the reports , dashboardsto all stakeholders ( mid management , senior management), translating complex data into easily understood business terms.
