Cost Manager

Role Description The Cost Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing and controlling project costs across the real estate development lifecycle. This role involves preparing and reviewing cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections, as well as monitoring actual expenditures against planned budgets. The Cost Manager will analyze tenders, contracts, and variations, support procurement decisions, and manage cost reporting to ensure financial transparency for stakeholders. Daily tasks include collaborating with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to track cost risks, recommend cost-optimization strategies, and maintain accurate documentation. The role also includes preparing periodic cost reports, supporting client presentations, and contributing to feasibility assessments for new and ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis for real estate projects.
• Hands-on experience in quantity surveying, contract management, and tender evaluation.
• Proficiency with project cost management tools, spreadsheets, and relevant software for reporting and forecasting.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, project timelines, and value engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present clear cost reports and recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; professional certifications in cost management or quantity surveying are an advantage.
• Relevant experience in cost management for real estate projects.
