Role Description
This is an on-site, contract role located in Bengaluru for a Global Cost Database Analyst. The role involves managing and maintaining cost databases to support global operations, performing extensive data extraction, transformation, and collaborating with teams to ensure accurate data modeling and analysis. The selected candidate will also be responsible for database design and administration to optimize performance, accuracy, and accessibility of cost-related information.The candidate should also have experience in should costing of mechanical part & product cost and participate in VAVE session and give VE ideas.
Education:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
Experience:
5-10 year experience in relevant industry
Cost Database Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in developing and maintaining global economic databases for materials, machines, labor, and related cost parameters.
Strong expertise in market price analysis across multiple commodity categories, including ferrous, non-ferrous, plastics, rubber, chemicals, and packaging materials.
Ability to perform material price trend analysis and provide market insights to support sourcing and cost decisions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with hands-on experience in data analysis and visualization.
Solid understanding of product cost structures and identification of key cost drivers.
Awareness of credible data sources and subscription platforms for obtaining relevant market information.
Up-to-date knowledge of commodity trends, forecasts, duties and tariffs, and freight rates.
Ability to prepare comprehensive commodity analysis reports with actionable insights.
Proficiency in creating professional presentations and summarizing complex data for stakeholders.
Experience in creating Dashboards using Power BI.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver results within tight timelines.
Should Cost Engineering Skills:
Experience in should-cost analysis for commodities such as plastics, rubber, sheet metal, castings, and machined components.
Hands-on experience in product teardown and creation of Bill of Materials (BOM).
Exposure to competitive benchmarking and value engineering practices.
