Job Description
Corporate Litigation and Contracting
Department: Legal
Post Qualification Experience: 4-5 years
Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Handling internal department related and external client disputes or cases;
- Replying to legal notices;
- Thoroughly review, analyze, and categorize documents, understanding their significance in ongoing litigation;
- Managing litigation right from initial evaluation of the case, review and finalize court documents, co-ordinate with external counsels, law firm, witnesses and internal departments as required and administrative work related to case management.
Legal Research:
- Undertake exhaustive legal research to provide evidence and case law that support the company's litigation position;
- Stay updated with the latest legal trends that can influence the companys case.
Advisory role:
- Offer comprehensive legal advice to company management ensuring compliance and risk mitigation;
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to counteract them. Continuously strive for improvements in risk management standards;
- Periodically update the senior management on the status of litigation cases, potential risks, and changes in strategy;
- Guide different teams on the legal implications of their operations.
- Advise on matters pertaining to Corporate Social Responsibility and draft, review, negotiate related agreements.
Contract review:
- Drafting, review, negotiation, and finalization of business agreements (vendor contracts, NDA, MOUs, Marketing agreements, collaboration agreements, admin agreements, employment contracts, business support agreements, loan agreements etc.) lease deeds, affidavits, POA and all forms of legal arrangements.
- Ensure contracts align with legal standards and company policies.
- Provide analysis of contractual obligations and risks associated in a given contract.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in law from a recognized university.
- 4-5 years of combined litigation and non-litigation experience with experience of 2-3 years court practice or with a law firm. Experience of minimum 2 years as in-house legal counsel, preferably in the IT industry.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in legal research and interpretation.
- Understanding of IT services industry and the types of contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with real estate and labour laws considered a significant advantage.
